We send our regards to all the new friends we have made and wish a safe journey back to their home towns.

OUR NEXT MATCHES ARE;

KK ROVERS 3 v SPARTAN FC 3 1230pm 25/09/2011 UMS STADIUM KK SABAH
Our first match was an end to end pulsating encounter versus Sabah U16s Bteam
Spartan FC took the lead first with a goal from OG who scored from a corner kick, Sabah came back immediately and leveled 1-1. OG once again scored and Spartan FC took the lead once again only for KK Rovers to level before half time. In the 2nd half KK Rovers took the lead for the 1st time and held it for the majority of the 2nd half only to see Spartan FC level the score 3-3 after an intense 15minutes of pressure the equalising goal was scored by Amir the Spartan Captain.

KICKALOB FC v SPARTAN FC 1100AM 26/09/2011 PENAMPANG STADIUM KK SABAH. Our 2nd encounter matched us against the Best team in Sarawak and a well discipline, determine Kickalob FC made a fierce encounter with Spartan FC and the 1st half was level at 0-0. In the 2nd half Kickalob dominated the midfield and Spartan defence was under immense pressure and Kickalob FC then scored twice to lead and even after a determine run of pressure Spartan FC were unable to penetrate the Kickalob defence. Well done to Dato' Daub boys.

SPARTAN FC v TYCO SPORTS ACADEMY 3PM 26/09/2011 PENAMPANG STADIUM KK SABAH. Our 3rd encounter was against the 2010 South Korea Champions who have players who have represented their state and national teams and you could see why they were Champions as they confidently attacked the Spartan lines and dominated midfield and countered attacked at pace, which resulted in them scoring 4 goals in the 1st half. The Spartan boys did not give up and Navin Kumer managed to be the only player so far in the tournament to score and get pass the South Korean defence by scoring before half time. The 2nd half the Spartan boys came out fighting and it became a firece hard fought match and the Spartan team did not give ground and held the South Korea attacks back and did not concede any goals in the 2nd half, a much better performance by them in a hard fought encounter. TYCO Sports then went on to win the 2011 Borneo Cup.

SPARTAN FC v FOOTBALL WEST REGIONAL 1200AM 27/09/2011 LIKAS STADIUM KK SABAH. The last of our Group stage matches was against a combine team of players from South West Regional Area of Australia. even though the players are suppose to be based in Perth they come from 1/3rd of the western side of Australia and some of the boys have to travel over 1200kms to train with the team. Spartan FC were pitted against future stars of the Australia football league and future National and regional state players, a mountain to climb. The Spartan boys started very well and immediately tested the Australia defence from the kick off and maintained a positive start on very wet and muddy conditions after tropical tyhoon Nester had passed Kota Kinabalu overnight. Spartan FC kept attacking the Australian and wasted a lot of chances, the midfield and defensive players controlled the Australia counter attacks and when it looked as if they were going to go in at half time 0-0 the Australia attack broke through the Spartan defence and and scored to take the lead at 1-0. Straight after half time The South Western players played better, even though it was still a tight match they once again scored after a defensive error by the Spartan Defence to win the match 2-0. It was a well fought match by both teams and the score did not reflect the effort the Spartan boys had made.

SUBANG JAYA FC 1 v SPARTAN FC 0 3pm 27/09/11Likas Stadium KK Sabah
Our final match was a play off for placing 7th and 8th against out Kuala Lumpur rivals Subang Jaya FC. This was a closely fought match and Spartan FC once again had the most chances to score, the first half ended 0-0. The 2nd half was also evenly matched and in the dying minutes a great save by the Subang Jaya goal keeper denied Spartan FC victory. After normal time the scores stayed 0-0. Both teams now played with a reduced team of 9 players each and the first team to score the golden goal won. Once again nothing separated the two teams and after the 3minutes of extra time the score was still 0-0. So the 3rd part of the golden goal rule was in place, the teams were reduced to 6 players to play another 3minutes and if no one scored it would go to penalties. Subang Jaya started the 3rd part of the match better and scored to win the match. Spartan FC played very well and were placed 8th overall in the Borneo Cup.

We would like to wish everyone Hari Raya Aidilfitri maaf Zahar and Batin.
