This weekend the 9th July I finally managed to get to see my favorite team play their first match as a newly promoted team into the English 2nd Division. AFC Wimbledon played a friendly against Fulham FC XI and won 2-0. A little deja vu as i looked at the team which played in the 2nd half as i was reminded of the 1990s team of Marcus, Robbie,Fashanu,Ekoku, Cunningham, Perry, Eardley, they looked exciting and strong, good luck!!

This weekend whilst i was in London we visited a few of the famous clubs including Queens Park Rangers the newest member to the English Premier League, check out the pictures above!!

AS A fan of AFC WIMBLEDON I WOULD LIKE TO SAY WELL DONE AS TODAY A HISTORIC DAY AFC WIMBLEDON AFTER 9 YEARS HAVE MADE THEIR WAY BACK TO DIVISON 2 OF THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. This is more of a fairy tale than reality. Wimbledon FC were the 1st football club to have not 1 but 2 billionaires as its owners. The unfortunate fact is the owners destroyed the club sold all its best players and then sold the club to another part of the country. The True Wimbledon fans were so angry they formed their own club aka AFC WIMBLEDON, this club is owned by the fans and due to the fans support the club within 9 years through humble beginnings playing on open public fields are now back in the football league a truely amazing story and the story is just about to begin!! Long Live AFC WIMBLEDON!!

SPARTAN FC next tournament will be THE BORNEO CUP in Kota Kinabalu Sabah Borneo on the 24-28 September 2011. All players who want to be considered please go to U16s page. for further details of tournament go to:  www.borneofootballcup.com

After the Awards the boys all went swimming and then went to Galaxy Cinema Complex Ampang to watch AVATAR the movie. A great day was had by all as we concluded our year and take a short break until the middle of January when we will start again.

On the 12 December 2009 Spartan FC entered their last 2 tournaments, 1 event was the World Cup Vision 1 Malaysia Tournament at Pandang Timur in Petaling Jaya Kuala Lumpur. Both the U12s and U14s teams were involved in this event ,each age group had 24 teams competing for the championship trophy and the RM3000 prize money. The U12s drew 2 of their games with Puchong United 1-1 and Kampung Tunku and lost against Kuala Piala from Negeri Simbilan 1-0, they had played very well however a defensive error against Kuala Piala saw them drop out of the competition. Team Captain of U12s was Kholid and he also was the only goal scorer,

The U14s Team also had a terrific competition after being beaten by KLYS on the 9th December 2009, they drew in both of their their games, unbeaten but were out of the competition. However not bad for a team that only has been in existence for 1 month.
Syed Abdul Rahman was Team Captain and only goal scorer was Morgan.

For more information about the competition goto www.wcvfc.com.my  Thanks go out to Mr. Kamal Kassim President of WCVFC and Organiser of 1 Malaysia Tournament.

On the 12 December our U12s B team also competed in another tournament at the French School of Kuala Lumpur, 6 teams competed for 3 medal placings and a Winners Trophy, even though we had a weaken team they did very well and came 4th missing a Medal placing. Thanks goes out to Mr Emmanuel Deneux who invited us.
Team Captain was Zahal and goal scorers were Ruslan, Ahmad and Shafiq all with 1 goal only.

SPARTAN FC v SHEPHERDS

Spartan FC were yet again expecting a very close game against Shepherds however Spartan FC won the encounter with a convincing win by 4 goals.

Spartan FC v Sheperds 4-0

FINAL 15 November 2009

La Salle School did not compete in the Finals, however last years winners St. Johns School ( RSC secret weapon) took their place instead and it was easy to see why they won the previous year, a confident and solid display and the normal Spartan attack was dented by their resilient defence and the game came to a 0-0 after additional time was added over the 15 minutes allocated. It was then decided by penalties. Each team was allowed 3 penalties each and then it would go to sudden death. St. Johns took the first penalty and their player hit the right post and did not score. Spartan FC then step forward and Kholid the Captain confidently blasted the ball out of the reach of the St. Johns goal keeper. 1-0.  St. Johns then took their spot kick and Mahathir superbly saved the penalty kick. It was then down to Mustakim the Spartan defender to score and win the game for Spartan FC, which he did and Spartan Fc became this year RSC 7 aside winners.

Spartan FC v St. Johns School 2-0 ( after penalty shoot out )

SPARTAN FC are this year Winner of the Royal Selangor Club U12 Mini Soccer Tournament.

Excellent performance from both teams, thanks go out to Mr. Buddi and Royal Selangor Club for inviting Spartan FC and making this event our First Tournament win and hopefully many more happy moments to come. Royal Selangor Club have already invited us to next year Tournament again!!

In the second half the koreans came out fighting however Spartan FC were the stronger team and played very good attacking football and Mahadi the Spartan FC goal keeper managed to save a Penalty.
